The Live Gamer Portable (also known as the C875) is intended for gaming enthusiasts who want to capture gaming streams and gameplay, but its simplicity and recording software make it the go-to product for connecting a VCR and video cameras. Nov 26, 2013 The Avermedia LGP is a USB 2.0 device capable of capturing HD via HDMI port. With the Live Stream Engine it is compatible with a variety of streaming software. I demo it in combination with Wirecast.
It’s here…. almost.
Back in February I was lucky enough to secure a review sample of the AVerMedia Game Capture Portable, which I suspect might be the best selling capture card in 2013. Why do I say that?
Where do we begin?
The C875 supports full HD recording at 60fps and works with consoles as well as PCs. Those of us on PS3, XBOX or Wii can also take advantage of PC-less recording: a feature which seems to be unique to AVerMedia and is the main reason why I purchased my existing device, the Game Capture HD.
In addition to the above, it has HDMI in/out, a built in processor to avoid draining system resources for PC users and has full live streaming support. Oh, it’s also about the size of an iPhone.
AVerMedia C875: Pricing & Availability
As I predicted in my previous post on the C875, the Live Gamer Portable has launched on Amazon.com for $179.99 although it’s it isn’t available on Amazon.co.uk just yet. When it is available, expect to pay £179.99.
In terms of my own review unit, I understand this is now in the hands of UK Border Control and I hope to have it within the next week. As soon as it is in my possession you can expect an unboxing and full review 🙂

Just in case she is reading this, I want to say a massive “thank you” to Ginmerry at AVerMedia HQ for her help in sourcing the review unit!
